Description
A delightful twist on the classic tiramisu, incorporating fresh strawberries for a fruity and refreshing dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1 package ladyfinger cookies
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Additional strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for a few seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers and top with half of the sliced strawberries.
- Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers, the remaining mascarpone mixture, and the remaining strawberries.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with additional strawberries.
Notes
- For a more intense strawberry flavor, you can blend some of the strawberries into a puree and layer it in the dessert.
- Make sure the coffee is cooled completely to prevent the ladyfingers from becoming too soft.
