This classic Italian dessert features layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a luscious mascarpone cream, creating a visually stunning tiramisu aesthetic.

- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the milk to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the mascarpone cheese into the cooled egg mixture until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer them in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
- Make sure to not soak the ladyfingers for too long, or they will become too soggy.
