A delightful twist on the classic tiramisu, this Strawberry Tiramisu features layers of creamy mascarpone cheese, fresh strawberries, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers for a refreshing dessert perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
- In a shallow dish, mix the brewed coffee with coffee liqueur if using.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds, making sure not to soak them.
- In a 9×9 inch dish, layer half of the dipped ladyfingers on the bottom.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then add half of the sliced strawberries on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and strawberries.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with additional strawberries if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
- Feel free to swap strawberries for other berries like raspberries or blueberries.
- Ensure the ladyfingers are dipped quickly to maintain their structure.
