- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Whole milk
- 16 ounces Mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1/4 cup Powdered sugar
- 2 cups Fresh strawberries, sliced
- as desired Edible flowers, for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. In another bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of mascarpone cream over the top, then add a layer of sliced strawberries.
- Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the mascarpone and strawberry layers.
- Decorate the top of the cake with remaining mascarpone cream and arrange edible flowers as desired.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
- Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting.
- You can substitute any edible flowers of your choice for decoration.
