Ingredients
Scale
- 3 to 4 pounds beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat your slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the beef brisket.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker.
- Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the brisket.
- In a separate bowl, combine beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour the mixture over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with the sauce from the slow cooker drizzled on top.
Notes
- For best results, choose a well-marbled brisket for added flavor and tenderness.
- You can also add vegetables like carrots and potatoes to the slow cooker for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
