Description
Tender and flavorful slow-cooked beef brisket, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 lbs beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the brisket from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- In a slow cooker, combine beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Place the seared brisket into the slow cooker and pour the onion and garlic mixture over it.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with the sauce from the slow cooker.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the brisket in your favorite rub overnight before cooking.
- Leftover brisket can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
