Description

A deliciously rich and aromatic Indian chicken curry served alongside soft naan and crispy fries for the perfect meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
  • Naan bread, for serving
  • Fries, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chilies. Sauté for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  4. Add chicken pieces to the pot and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  5. Sprinkle in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Add garam masala and stir well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
  9. Serve the chicken curry with soft naan and crispy fries on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer green chilies.
  • For a richer flavor, marinate the chicken with spices and yogurt for a few hours before cooking.
