- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust with flour.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir until combined.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For an extra touch of luxury, add a splash of espresso to the chocolate mixture.
- Make sure not to overbake, as the center must remain gooey.
- You can prepare the batter ahead of time and refrigerate it in the ramekins. Just increase the baking time by a couple of minutes.
