Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, sugar, and dried lavender. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Remove from heat and let the lavender steep for about 15 minutes.
- Strain the lavender syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove the lavender buds.
- Add the remaining 3 cups of cold water and the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher. Stir well.
- Bruise the fresh mint leaves slightly to release their oils, then add them to the lemonade mixture.
- Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs.
Notes
- For a less sweet version, reduce the amount of sugar to taste.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of lavender to suit your preference.
- This lemonade can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
