Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For perfectly crispy results, ensure the tater tots are spread evenly in a single layer.
  • If you prefer a crunchier topping, you can increase the baking time by a few minutes, but keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
