Description
This Instant Pot beef brisket recipe delivers tender, juicy brisket in a fraction of the time it takes to cook traditionally. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, it’s the ideal dish for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Season the brisket with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Set the Instant Pot to ‘Sauté’ mode. Add a little oil and sear the brisket on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to the pot, sautéing until softened.
- Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
- Return the brisket to the pot, ensuring it is submerged in the liquid.
- Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to ‘Manual’ or ‘Pressure Cook’ for 60 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is complete, allow for a natural pressure release for 10-15 minutes before manually releasing any remaining pressure.
- Remove the brisket and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
Notes
- For a more flavorful brisket, marinate it overnight with the seasoning.
- Adjust the cooking time for larger or smaller briskets; generally, cook for about 1 hour per 2 pounds.
- Serve with your favorite sides or use the leftovers in sandwiches or tacos.
