Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onion with the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Layer the frozen tater tots evenly over the beef mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top of the tater tots.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
