  • 1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spray a baking dish with olive oil spray. Dip each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, coating evenly, and place them in the baking dish.
  4. Spray the tops of the chicken breasts lightly with olive oil spray.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
