- 4 cups green beans (fresh or frozen)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/3 cups fried onions (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture into a 2-quart baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and stir in 2/3 cup of fried onions.
- Top with the remaining fried onions and return to the oven.
- Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a homemade version, you can replace the cream of mushroom soup with a mixture of sautéed mushrooms, milk, and flour.
- Feel free to add cheese for extra flavor.
- This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
