Description

A quick and healthy stir fry that combines tender chicken, crunchy cabbage, and vibrant vegetables served over fluffy jasmine rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced cabbage, bell peppers, and carrots to the skillet. Stir fry for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir to combine and heat through for another 2 minutes.
  7. Serve the stir fry over steamed jasmine rice, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preference or what you have on hand.
  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and ginger for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
  • This dish can also be made with leftover cooked chicken or turkey.
