This creamy and flavorful crockpot green bean casserole is a holiday classic made easy! Cooked slowly to perfection, it’s the perfect side dish for your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

- 4 cups fresh or frozen green beans
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the green beans and half of the crispy fried onions to the mixture. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the green beans are tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and the remaining crispy fried onions on top.
- Cover and let it cook for the remaining time until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add cooked and crumbled bacon to the mixture.
- If using fresh green beans, trim the ends and cut them into bite-sized pieces before adding.
- Feel free to adjust the cheese amount based on your preference.
