Description
These churros are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, coated in cinnamon sugar that gives them a delightful sweetness. Perfect for dipping in chocolate or enjoying on their own!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Let the dough cool for about 10 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Prepare a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Spoon the dough into the piping bag and pipe churros directly into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.
- Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl, then roll the warm churros in the mixture to coat.
- Serve immediately with chocolate sauce for dipping if desired.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
- You can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar for extra flavor.
- Churros are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two.
