These churros are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, coated in cinnamon sugar that gives them a delightful sweetness. Perfect for dipping in chocolate or enjoying on their own!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Let the dough cool for about 10 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Prepare a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Spoon the dough into the piping bag and pipe churros directly into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.
  6. Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl, then roll the warm churros in the mixture to coat.
  8. Serve immediately with chocolate sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • You can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar for extra flavor.
  • Churros are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two.
