  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken thighs in the skillet.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
