Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. While the brownies are baking, prepare the ganache. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until smooth.
  6. Once the brownies are done, let them cool completely in the pan. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies and spread evenly.
  7. Cut the brownies into squares and top each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add nuts or caramel swirls to the brownie batter before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
