  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

These Beef Brisket Tacos are the ultimate street-style treat, featuring juicy, flavorful brisket wrapped in soft tortillas and topped with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef brisket, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)
  • Salsa or pico de gallo (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Rub the brisket with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Place the brisket in the skillet and sear on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer the brisket to a baking dish and pour the sautéed onion and garlic over the top. Add beef broth around the brisket.
  6. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  7. Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes. Shred the brisket using two forks.
  8. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat until pliable.
  9. To assemble the tacos, place some of the shredded brisket on each tortilla. Top with fresh cilantro, salsa, and a squeeze of lime juice.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious beef brisket tacos!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños to the tacos.
  • You can use flour tortillas instead of corn if preferred.
  • Leftover brisket can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
