- 3–4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Season the brisket with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Transfer the seared brisket to the crockpot on top of the onions and garlic.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours until the brisket is tender.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket from the crockpot and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with the sauce from the crockpot.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the brisket overnight with the seasoning.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or coleslaw for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
