Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Season the brisket with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Transfer the seared brisket to the crockpot on top of the onions and garlic.
  5. In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the brisket.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours until the brisket is tender.
  7. Once cooked, remove the brisket from the crockpot and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve with the sauce from the crockpot.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the brisket overnight with the seasoning.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or coleslaw for a complete meal.
