Description

This air fryer whole chicken is juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked with crispy skin. It’s an easy and quick way to enjoy a roast chicken without heating up your oven.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (34 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and place it in a large bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin and inside the cavity.
  5. Stuff the cavity with lemon quarters.
  6. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast side down.
  7. Cook for 30 minutes, then carefully flip the chicken to breast side up and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve.
