Description
This air fryer whole chicken is juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked with crispy skin. It’s an easy and quick way to enjoy a roast chicken without heating up your oven.

- 1 whole chicken (3–4 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, quartered
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and place it in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin and inside the cavity.
- Stuff the cavity with lemon quarters.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast side down.
- Cook for 30 minutes, then carefully flip the chicken to breast side up and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve.

- Make sure to check the internal temperature of the chicken at the thickest part of the breast and thigh.
