This decadent air fryer chocolate lava cake is a quick and easy dessert that will impress your guests. With a gooey chocolate center and a crisp exterior, it’s perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Grease four ramekins with non-stick cooking spray and pour the batter evenly into each ramekin.
- Place the ramekins in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch each other.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool for 1 minute.
- Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or topped with ice cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
- Make sure not to overcook the cakes; the center should be gooey and runny.
- You can refrigerate the batter for up to 24 hours before cooking if you’d like to prepare it in advance.
