Description
This pizza dough recipe is easy to make at home and yields a perfectly chewy and flavorful crust. It’s the foundation for any great pizza night!

- 3 1/2 cups All-purpose flour (Plus more for dusting)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons Instant dry yeast (Or 1 packet)
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Sugar (Optional, but helps activate the yeast)
- 1 1/2 cups Warm water (About 105-115°F)
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil (Plus more for greasing the bowl)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar (if using).
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this step.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough to release the air. Divide the dough into 2 or 3 portions, depending on the size of pizzas you want to make.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out each portion of dough to your desired thickness and shape.
- Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Add your favorite toppings and bake in a preheated oven at 450°F (232°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, preheat your pizza stone in the oven before baking.,You can also let the dough rise in the refrigerator for a slower fermentation, which will develop more flavor. Let it sit in the fridge for up to 24 hours,If the dough is too sticky, gradually add more flour until it comes together.
