Description

Crispy and healthy air fryer falafel made from chickpeas and spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. Pulse until blended but still chunky.
  3. Add flour and mix well.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls or patties.
  5. Brush or spray the falafel with olive oil.
  6. Place falafel in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  7. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve with tahini sauce or yogurt.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • You can freeze uncooked falafel for later use.
