- 1 pound fresh green beans (Trimmed and halved)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (Extra virgin olive oil recommended)
- 2 cloves garlic (Minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (Optional, for a little heat)
- Salt and pepper (To taste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (Freshly squeezed, optional)
Instructions
- Wash and trim the green beans. Halve them if desired.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the green beans to the skillet and sauté for 8-10 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in lemon juice if using.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a more intense garlic flavor, add the garlic later in the cooking process. You can also add other seasonings such as herbs (like thyme or rosemary) or a splash of soy sauce.
